Following Dadan Silmy's Arrest by the KPK, the Presidential Palace: 'We are Deeply Concerned These Past Two Days'

Following the arrest of several state officials, the Presidential Palace expressed its concern regarding the legal incidents that have occurred.

Recently, Vice Minister of Immigration and Penitentiary (Imipas) Silmy Karim, wearing an orange vest, was officially named a suspect in a case of alleged corruption related to the processing of residence permits for foreign nationals by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

Yesterday, the Attorney General’s Office also named former Head and Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, Sony Sonjaya, and Lodwyk Pusung as suspects in a corruption case.

Prasetyo emphasized that the government never expected such legal incidents to occur. Moreover, Prasetyo reminded that the President often warns his staff not to engage in corruption.

“Indeed, these past two days, we are deeply concerned, and these incidents keep happening, which is clearly not what we want. The President has repeatedly reminded us all on various occasions to improve ourselves and fight against corrupt practices in carrying out our daily tasks,” said Prasetyo to reporters on Thursday (June 4, 2026).

Prasetyo also affirmed that the government respects the ongoing legal processes, both at the Attorney General’s Office and the KPK.

“Of course, the government respects the legal processes being carried out by law enforcement officials, both the Attorney General’s Office and the KPK,” he said.

Meanwhile, regarding Silmy’s position as Vice Minister of Imipas after becoming a suspect, Pras stated that the government will follow up on this matter soon.

“And regarding the positions held by those who are undergoing legal processes, it will be followed up soon in accordance with applicable laws and regulations,” said Pras.

He assured that the case against Silmy will not affect the services at the Ministry of Imipas.
