Following ChatGPT and Anthropic, Microsoft Launches AI Health Copilot

Technology companies are increasingly competing to develop artificial intelligence focused on users’ health.

Following OpenAI with ChatGPT Health and Anthropic, which is also developing AI to understand medical data, Microsoft has joined the trend through a new feature called Copilot Health.

The new feature was announced directly through Microsoft AI’s official website on Thursday 12 March 2026.

According to the Windows operating system maker, Copilot Health is a dedicated space within the Copilot chatbot designed to help users understand their health information.

Through this feature, users can ask various questions related to laboratory test results, medical records, and search for doctors suited to their needs.

For example, users can ask Copilot Health to explain the meaning of blood test results or help interpret complex medical reports.

One of Copilot Health’s key capabilities is its ability to connect with various health data sources.

Users can import medical records from over 50,000 hospitals and healthcare organisations in the United States through the HealthEx platform. Additionally, laboratory test results can also be uploaded through the Function service.

Copilot Health can also connect with over 50 wearable devices, including devices from Apple, Oura, and Fitbit.

With this integration, Copilot Health can display various health information, such as daily step count, activity data, and reminders for medical appointment schedules.

Beyond helping users understand health data, Copilot Health is also said to assist users in finding healthcare professionals.

This feature connects with healthcare provider directories in the US in real-time, allowing users to search for doctors based on specialisation, location, language used, and accepted insurance.
