Private fuel providers in Indonesia are united in not adjusting fuel prices on 1 April 2026, following the directive from the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia. Not only PT Pertamina (Persero), but also several private fuel station operators, such as BP-AKR and PT Vivo Energy Indonesia, have chosen to hold their selling prices amid global uncertainties due to the closure of the Hormuz Strait. Normally, non-subsidised fuel prices change on the 1st of each month in line with fluctuations in world crude oil prices, the rupiah exchange rate against the US dollar, and the Mean of Platts Singapore (MOPS). Based on CNBC Indonesia’s observations today, Wednesday, 1 April 2026, private providers’ fuel products, such as BP’s BP 92, remain at Rp12,390 per litre, the same as in March 2026. Similarly, Vivo’s Revvo 92 is held at Rp12,390 per litre. Meanwhile, some Shell stations are observed to be out of stock and not selling fuel. At Pertamina stations in the Jakarta area and surroundings, the price of RON 92 or Pertamax fuel remains at Rp12,300 per litre, unchanged since 1 March 2026. Pertamax Green or RON 95 was priced at Rp12,900 per litre in March 2026, up from the previous Rp12,450 per litre. Earlier, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia assured that the government would not adjust non-subsidised fuel prices on 1 April 2026. According to Bahlil, there has been no price change for non-subsidised fuels, including high-quality diesel like Pertamina Dex, aligning with statements from State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi. “Regarding Pertamina Dex or high-quality diesel, there has been no price adjustment, and what the State Secretary Minister said is exactly that—neither more nor less. Of course, with world price fluctuations, we will review according to global developments,” Bahlil said at a press conference on Tuesday (31/3/2026). Nevertheless, the government will continue to assess potential price adjustments in line with world oil price fluctuations. The evaluation will be conducted after the government returns to Jakarta. “For non-subsidised fuels, we are discussing with the Pertamina team and other private fuel stations until the time is right—what time? Wait, meaning there is no price adjustment yet; it remains the same,” he emphasised. “For non-subsidised fuels, we will discuss back in Jakarta with the existing dynamics. If there is any, we will discuss the timing in the next phase,” he added. Here is the list of fuel prices at all Pertamina and private stations as of 1 April 2026: Pertamina (DKI Jakarta): Pertalite: Rp10,000 per litre; Subsidised Diesel: Rp6,800 per litre; Pertamax: Rp12,300 per litre; Pertamax Turbo: Rp13,100 per litre; Pertamax Green 95: Rp12,900 per litre; Dexlite: Rp14,200 per litre; Pertamina Dex: Rp14,500 per litre.
