Follow-up to citizen complaints using AI, Pram: It must not happen again
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo has requested that the case of falsifying evidence for citizen complaint follow-ups using artificial intelligence (AI)-generated images on the Jakarta Kini (JAKI) app does not happen again.
“This must not recur, because for the Jakarta government, transparency is a very important matter,” said Pramono in Kemayoran, East Jakarta, on Monday.
Pramono has asked that in the future, all ranks of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government be honest in responding to citizen complaints via the JAKI app.
“It is better, for example, if it is not yet resolved, then just say it is not yet resolved, rather than doing it with AI which essentially is deceiving,” he said.
For this reason, Pramono has ordered that the perpetrators of falsifying evidence for citizen complaint follow-ups be punished.
Previously, the Head of the Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Agency (Diskominfotik) of DKI Jakarta, Budi Awaluddin, stated that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has issued a written reprimand to Kalisari Sub-district, which is indicated to have falsified evidence for citizen complaint follow-ups, namely by using AI-generated photos.
“The Bureau of Government acknowledges there was an error in the validation process. So far, no evidence of complaint follow-ups using AI-generated photos has ever been found,” he said.
The corrective steps taken by the DKI Provincial Government include re-inputting the citizen complaints to then direct them to the Transportation Agency as the authority for parking matters.
Then, issuing a Circular from the Regional Secretary containing a prohibition on the use of AI in submitting evidence for complaint follow-ups, while reminding all Regional Work Units (OPD)/Regional Public Companies (BUMD) to handle complaints properly and correctly.
Other efforts include providing specific guidance in the Townhall Meeting regarding handling repeated complaints and coordinating with the Inspectorate to design sanctions for OPD/BUMD proven to have falsified evidence for follow-ups.
Budi emphasised that every report received from the public is an important part of efforts to maintain the quality of public services. Therefore, integrity in every follow-up process is something that cannot be compromised.
