Fog causes delays at Bangkok airport
BANGKOK (AP): Heavy fog shrouded Bangkok airport on Friday,
causing delays for hundreds of passengers on international and
domestic flights, officials said.
At least one dozen international flights from major European
cities including Paris, Amsterdam and Munich were diverted to
other airports in Thailand, officials said.
Flights were diverted to airports in Chiang Mai in northern
Thailand, U-tapao in central Thailand and to Had Yai in the
south. Domestic services were also affected.
The Airport Authority of Thailand said six or seven flights
were expected to be canceled, including two flights from Cambodia
to Bangkok. However, as the fog cleared in the late morning,
services were resuming.
