Jakarta - PT Kereta Api Logistik (KAI Logistik) plans to build finished goods warehouse facilities in Bandung and Purwokerto, expected to be realised by September 2026. The project forms part of the company’s 2026 strategy to strengthen its business through the development of warehousing infrastructure as a core component of expanding its integrated logistics services. Aniek Dwi Deviyanti, Director of Business Development at KAI Logistik, said the development is a strategic step to broaden the company’s service capabilities. It will extend beyond distribution to support a broader national logistics ecosystem, delivering solutions for customers. The warehouses will be designed as finished goods facilities for food and chemical storage, office areas, and other supporting facilities to ensure operations run optimally and comply with safety and quality standards. In addition to being modern, the facilities will feature cold storage to preserve food quality during storage and the use of solar panels as part of energy efficiency and environmentally friendly operations. The focus on warehouse development is supported by the growing national logistics industry, with the transport and warehousing sector in Indonesia expanding by 8.04% year-on-year in Q1 2026. Warehousing is no longer just a storage space, but a distribution and inventory management hub that plays a critical role in maintaining product quality and improving overall operational efficiency. Strengthening warehousing infrastructure is thus a strategic move for logistics players to meet increasingly complex market needs and to support national economic growth.
