JAKARTA — Krakatau Posco has once again recorded an achievement in the environmental sector by securing the Proper Green rating for three consecutive years. This accomplishment positions the company as the only one in the iron and steel industry capable of consistently maintaining this ranking. The award was presented at the Proper Environmental Awards event organised by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. The number of participants increased by 22 per cent compared to the previous period, which involved 4,495 companies, reflecting the growing commitment of the business world to implementing sustainable environmental management practices. In his speech, Minister of Environment and Forestry Hanif Faisol Nurofiq emphasised the importance of a beyond compliance approach in environmental management. He stated that efforts exceeding regulatory fulfilment can provide significant contributions, from resource efficiency and pollution prevention to creating economic value for society. The rigorous evaluation process makes Proper Green an important indicator of a company’s commitment to conducting sustainable business practices. Department Head of Environment at Krakatau Posco, Naskuri, conveyed that this achievement is the result of consistency and collaboration from all elements of the company. “Achieving Proper Green for three consecutive years is a reflection of Krakatau Posco’s sustainable commitment to managing the environment responsibly. We continue to promote the application of innovations that not only focus on compliance but also provide added value for the environment and society,” said Naskuri in a press release on Saturday (11/4/2026). This success reflects the industry’s efforts to conduct operations aligned with sustainability principles.
