Flores Timur Free Nutritious Meal Task Force to Summon SPPG-7 Head Over Dismissed Workers
The Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Task Force in Flores Timur Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), will investigate the case of seven workers being dismissed from the Mandiri Pohon Bao MBG Kitchen. The parties involved, including the Head of the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG), the organising partner, and the dismissed workers, are scheduled to be summoned for questioning on Wednesday (17/6/2026).
“On Wednesday, we will investigate the kitchen and the parties we deem necessary to question so that we can place the matter in its proper context,” said Yakobus when confirmed by detikBali on Saturday (13/6/2026).
Yakobus explained that the seven dismissed individuals held volunteer status at the MBG kitchen. Therefore, they were obliged to carry out their duties according to the standard operating procedures (SOP) applicable within the SPPG environment. “Throughout their time in the kitchen, from carrying out work to serving food, there are SOPs,” he added.
According to him, the volunteers were recruited by the organising partner or foundation, then assigned to work under the coordination of the Head of SPPG. Evaluation of their performance falls under the authority of the kitchen management. “The partner or foundation recruits personnel and hands them over to the head of SPPG to utilise that workforce. Thus, an evaluation and assessment may have been conducted, leading to their dismissal,” he stated.
Yakobus stressed that the dismissal was allegedly not solely triggered by a single incident related to the preparation of anchovy dishes. He noted there were several evaluation records that were taken into consideration. “The background is that they were not compliant and obedient. The trigger was one anchovy incident, but it is an accumulation of actions taken so far,” he asserted.
Previously, seven SPPG Pohon Bao workers in Larantuka City, Flores Timur, were dismissed. One of the reasons cited was that the workers frequently took food ingredients home.
The Head of SPPG Pohon Bao, Anjelina Ruron, confirmed the termination of employment for seven of her workers. “Regarding the seven volunteers whose employment was terminated, I need to provide clarification on the developing case. They were dismissed not only because they didn’t fry the fish, but their mistakes had been assessed since the volunteers began working. Besides not frying the fish as raw material, they were also undisciplined in carrying out their duties as volunteers,” Anjelina detailed via WhatsApp on Friday.
According to Anjelina, the dismissed workers often took home food ingredients and kitchen spices, including shallots, garlic, eggs, cooking oil, candlenuts, and vegetables. Some items were even resold. “They always uttered inappropriate words to the Head of SPPG,” she added.
Furthermore, Anjelina continued, they always brought mobile phones and work bags into the kitchen during working hours. “The phones brought in were used to play TikTok, Facebook, and post WhatsApp statuses while inside the kitchen,” Anjelina charged.
