Floodwaters flow through Cipulir Market in South Jakarta
Floodwaters inundated Cipulir Market in South Jakarta on Sunday, 8 March 2026, with traders sleeping atop their merchandise as water rose around their stalls. The flooding was caused by the overflow of Kali Pesanggrahan following heavy rain in the Jabodetabek area from Saturday night into Sunday morning. Traders were seen assisting residents purchasing clothing for Eid as floodwaters engulfed their kiosks, while others scrambled to salvage their goods. A number of sellers stood in front of stalls submerged by the floodwaters.
