Floods Submerge Settlements in South Tangerang, Hundreds of Households Affected

Heavy rains drenched South Tangerang since Saturday night, causing floods in a number of residential areas. Eight locations in South Tangerang experienced waterlogging with depths up to 1 metre, affecting hundreds of households. ‘The report of waterlogging or flooding in Kota Tangsel, Sunday 8 March 2026 at 06:05 WIB,’ said Diyan Wiryawan, Operational Service Technician of BPBD Tangerang Selatan, in a statement on Sunday (8/3), as reported by Detik. Water depths ranged from 10 cm to 110 cm. Here are the flood points with water depth and affected households:

• Perumahan Pondok Safari RW 15, Kelurahan Jurangmangu Barat, Kecamatan Pondok Aren

Water depth: 15-100 cm

Affected: 280 households - Kampung Tembok Bolong RW 12, Rempoa Ciputat Timur

Water depth: 45 cm

Affected: 55 households - Perumahan Pondok Maharta RW 09 & RW 10, Kelurahan Pondok Kacang Timur

Water depth: 25-110 cm

Affected: 450 households - Perumahan Pondok Kacang Prima RW 17, Kelurahan Pondok Kacang Timur-Pondok Aren

Water depth: 10-40 cm

Affected: 90 households - Kavling Bulak Pondok Kacang Timur

Water depth: 30-70 cm

Affected: 58 households - Perumahan Taman Mangu 1 RW 06, Kelurahan Jurangmangu Barat-Pondok Aren

Water depth: 25 cm

Affected: 90 households - Jalan Oscar Raya RW 02, Kelurahan Bambu Apus, Kecamatan Pamulang

Water depth: 10 cm

Affected: access to main road for residents - Jalan Ceger Raya-Taman Mangu, Kelurahan Jurangmangu Barat, Kecamatan Pondok Aren

Water depth: 20-90 cm

Affected: access to main road

The floods disrupted residents’ activities, particularly in heavily affected areas such as Pondok Maharta and Pondok Safari. Pondok Maharta in Kelurahan Pondok Kacang Timur recorded the highest water level at 1.1 metres, with 450 residents affected. In Pondok Safari, Kelurahan Jurangmangu Barat, water reached 1.0 metres with 280 households affected.
