Floods inundate 1,000 houses

SERANG, West Java (JP): More than 1,000 houses in Kragilan
and Rangkasbitung were inundated by water when the banks of the
Ciujung River broke on Saturday.

Part of the Serang-Jakarta toll road was also covered by 60
centimeters of water, Antara reported.

The toll road operators decided to close the toll road to
traffic from Serang to Jakarta, diverting all cars through normal
roads. The decision was taken after dozens of cars broke down and
a truck overturned on the slippery road. (emb)
