Floods in Tangerang Regency Affect 1,117 Residents
Floods submerged several areas in Tangerang Regency, Banten, on Sunday (19/4). The flooding occurred due to the overflow of the Cimanceri River flow. Head of the Tangerang Regency Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Achmad Taufik, stated that the floods affected three districts, namely Jambe, Pagedangan, and Legok. “The floods occurred in Sukamanah Village, Jambe District, then in Karang Tengah Village, Pagedangan District, and Cirarab Village, Legok District,” Taufik said. Water levels varied in each area. In Jambe District, the flooding ranged between 60 and 70 centimetres. Meanwhile, in Pagedangan District, the water height reached 40 centimetres to 1.2 metres. In Legok District, the water level was around 50 centimetres. “The cause was the overflow of the Cimanceri River flow,” Taufik emphasised. Taufik revealed that 1,117 souls from 311 households were affected by this flood disaster. “The number of submerged houses is 252,” he added. Some residents chose to evacuate, with around 450 people currently at the Jami Al-Falah Mosque, Karang Tengah Village, Pagedangan District. Taufik claimed that his agency had distributed logistical assistance to the affected residents, especially those at the evacuation site.
