Floods destroy bridges
PALU, Central Sulawesi: While several provinces are suffering from severe droughts, major floods have hit this area, destroying two bridges linking Banggai and Toili.
Spokesman of the local Public Works office, Moeljoto, said the two bridges, which were 100 and 60 meters in length, collapsed after their foundations were unable to stand the abrasion.
Moeljoto said that the local government had set up a special task force to deal with the problem, Antara reported. (prs)
