Flooding Update Jakarta: 15 Neighbourhoods and 2 Road Sections Still Submerged, All in West Jakarta
JAKARTA — A total of 15 neighbourhoods (RT) across Jakarta remain waterlogged by flood waters as of Monday, 9 March 2026.
Mohammad Yohan, Head of Data and Information Centre at the Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), stated that all flooding locations are concentrated in West Jakarta.
“Based on data at 12.00 WIB, there are 15 RT and two road sections submerged due to heavy rainfall in Jakarta and surrounding areas on Saturday and Sunday, 7-8 March 2026,” Yohan said in a written statement on Monday.
Affected neighbourhoods by area:
Duri Kosambi Village: 3 RT
Rawa Buaya Village: 7 RT
Jelambar Village: 1 RT
South Kembangan Village: 2 RT
North Kembangan Village: 2 RT
Affected roads are located in:
Kedaung Kali Angke Village
South Kembangan Village
North Kembangan Village
Jelambar Village
The two affected road sections are Jalan Kapuk Muara Raya in Kapuk Muara Village and Jalan Lampu Merah Luar Kembang Raya in South Kembangan Village.
“Water levels on these roads range between 15 and 50 centimetres. The cause is high rainfall and overflow from the Angke Canal,” Yohan explained.
The BPBD continues to deploy personnel to monitor flooding conditions in each area and coordinates with relevant agencies, including the Water Resources Service (SDA), Civil Works Service, and Emergency and Disaster Services, to pump out standing water.
“We are targeting the flood waters to recede quickly,” Yohan added.
