Flooding Submerges Railway Bridges in Grobogan, Several Train Routes Diverted
Jakarta — Two railway bridges in Grobogan Regency have been submerged by floodwaters. PT KAI Regional Operations 4 Semarang has temporarily closed the affected lines and diverted a number of train services.
The flooding occurred on Monday (16/2/2026). Luqman Arif, Public Relations Manager of KAI Regional Operations 4 Semarang, said the flooding affected two bridge infrastructure points: Bridge 46 at KM 21+9/0 on the Tegowanu-Brumbung section and Bridge 59 at KM 27+9/0 between Gubug and Tegowanu stations.
“To ensure the safety of train services, at 04.35 Western Indonesian Time the line was temporarily closed as floodwaters had covered the rails,” Luqman said.
As a result of the line closure, PT KAI implemented operational adjustments. A number of trains that would normally travel along the northern route have been diverted via the Brumbung-Gundih-Gambringan route.
The following trains have been rerouted:
- Gumarang train on the Jakarta-Surabaya service
- Jayabaya train on the Jakarta-Malang service
- Harina train on the Bandung-Surabaya service
