Flooding Submerges Bogor Road After Heavy Rain, Causing Traffic Jams

Heavy rain caused Jalan Raya Kapten Yusuf, located on the border of Bogor City and Bogor Regency, to be submerged, with floodwaters flowing swiftly. The flooding resulted in traffic congestion.

When asked about the flooding in the Cikaret area, South Bogor, the Head of the Bogor City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) stated on Monday evening (3/8/2026) that there had been no reports of severe flooding, suggesting it was likely just surface water runoff.

Video footage showed the main road flooded with a strong current. Several car and motorcycle riders who were passing through chose to stop and pull over to the side of the road. The footage also showed that the flooded conditions caused traffic jams. Reports indicated that some motorists were trapped as it was considered too dangerous to force their way through the water.

Residents stated that the flooding occurred at the border between Bogor City and Bogor Regency, specifically between South Bogor District and Ciomas. The area is known to be a regular flood spot during heavy rain. A resident named Sidik Permana explained that the flooding happened immediately when the heavy rain fell, noting that the location always floods during downpours regardless of how long the rain lasts. He clarified that the upper part of the area is in Ciomas, Bogor Regency, while the lower part is in Cikaret, South Bogor District.
