Flooding Spreads in Jakarta, Now 75 RTs and 19 Roads Flooded

Flooding caused by heavy rain has spread in Jakarta on Sunday, 8 March 2026. The Head of the Data and Information Center of BPBD DKI Jakarta, Mohammad Yohan, said there are 75 Rukun Tetangga (RT) and 19 road sections still submerged. The data were obtained from BPBD monitoring up to 08:00 WIB. ‘The cause is the heavy rainfall that hit the DKI Jakarta area and its surroundings on Saturday, 7 March 2026, and Sunday,’ he said in a written statement on Sunday. BPBD DKI Jakarta continues to monitor flood locations and deploy personnel to help affected residents and anticipate follow-up inundation. In addition, floods remain inundating several points of roads in Jakarta. The depth of floodwaters varies from 10 to 120 cm, depending on location. Earlier, BPBD Jakarta recorded 39 RT and 13 road sections flooded on Sunday. Yohan said the data came from monitoring up to 04:00 WIB. ‘The cause is the heavy rainfall that hit the DKI Jakarta area and its surroundings on Saturday (7/3/2026) until Sunday,’ Yohan said.
