Flooding on North Coast Road Stalls Vehicles, Causes 15 Km Traffic Jam
The North Coast (Pantura) route at Kilometre 7-9, Kaligawe Main Road, Genuk District, Semarang City, was submerged by flooding. The flood caused a number of vehicles to stall, resulting in traffic congestion stretching 15 kilometres.
“The flooding was caused by the Babon River overflowing, with water flowing down from the Ungaran area (Semarang Regency) following heavy rainfall overnight,” said Rismanto, as reported by detikJateng on Monday (16/2/2026).
According to Rismanto, the flooded section was on the southern side of the road. As a result, the Demak-Semarang route experienced congestion of up to 15 kilometres.
