Flooding in Periuk, Tangerang Gradually Receding, Some Areas Still Submerged 4 Metres
Flooding that inundated Perumahan Periuk Damai residential area in Periuk District, Tangerang City, has begun to gradually recede as of Tuesday, 10 March 2026. Observations at the location show that water accumulation in the area is slowly decreasing compared to the previous day. However, flooding continues to submerge the majority of the residential area.
“Flooding in Perumahan Periuk Damai has started to recede. Currently, water levels have reached 400 centimetres,” said Andia S Rahman, Head of Emergency and Logistics at Tangerang City Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), at the location on Tuesday.
This situation has left residential roads and residents’ yards still covered by water. Nevertheless, numerous residents remain trapped on the second floors of their homes, as the ground floors remain uninhabitable. From a distance, residents can be seen standing on balconies and at windows whilst monitoring the flooding situation.
Rubber boats continue to pass through the area, helping residents enter and exit the residential complex because road access remains submerged to considerable depths. “The water has started to recede from last night. My house is still flooded, around 120 centimetres,” said Joni (51), a resident of Perumahan Periuk Damai, to Kompas.com at the location.
Many houses remain submerged and vehicles are unable to pass through several roads within the residential area.
