Flooding in Mampang, South Jakarta Causes Traffic Congestion

Flooding continues to blanket Jalan Kapten Tendean in Mampang, South Jakarta, this afternoon. The resulting congestion affected the road toward Cawang to Blok M, and vice versa. Detikcom observed at the scene on Sunday, 8 March 2026, at 12:00 WIB that the floodwater remained about 20-30 centimetres, slowing traffic. Vehicle lines stretched from both directions, as motorists hugged the right side of the road to avoid deeper water. There, vehicles had to proceed in turns along the right side, causing dense traffic. Drivers utilised the relatively higher right-hand side; only a few cars and trucks dared to use the left. At the scene, several police officers were seen directing traffic, with soldiers from the TNI also assisting with traffic control.
