Flooding in Mampang, South Jakarta, Brimob Polda Evacuates Elderly and Children
Flooding with water heights around two metres submerged a residential area on Jalan Kalandianti, RT 01 RW 08, Kelurahan Pela Mampang, South Jakarta today. Brimob Polda Metro Jaya assisted in evacuating residents. “Personnel of Batalyon A Pelopor of the Brimob Polda Metro Jaya were deployed directly to the location to assist the evacuation of residents affected by the flood,” said Dansat Brimob Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Henik Maryanto in a statement, Sunday (8 March 2026). Brimob SAR team arrived at the location around 10:20 WIB after receiving reports of residents needing evacuation assistance in the Bangka VII area. Officers then traversed the flooded residential area where water depth in the middle of the neighbourhood reached about two metres, and 1.2 metres at the exit road. Based on documentation received, evacuations were carried out for elderly from a two-storey house. Children were also seen being evacuated from the flood. “Our officers went directly to the location to ensure residents in the flooded area could be helped and evacuated safely. The presence of personnel on the ground is hoped to speed up handling and provide a sense of security for the community,” he said. Brimob Polda Metro Jaya urged residents in flood-prone areas to remain vigilant and prioritise family safety. Residents were asked to coordinate with officers if they require evacuation assistance or help at flood-affected locations.
