Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Jakarta Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) notes that 39 Rukun Tetangga (RTs) and 13 road segments in Jakarta were flooded due to heavy rain in the area.

“Flooding occurred due to heavy rain in Jakarta and its surroundings from Saturday to Sunday,” said Mohamad Yohan, head of the BPBD DKI Jakarta Data and Disaster Information Centre, in Jakarta, on Sunday.

BPBD DKI Jakarta has taken various measures to mitigate the impact of floods in affected locations.

He said the latest data shows floods inundating 39 RTs and 13 roads located in West Jakarta and South Jakarta.

Yohan said water heights ranged from 20 centimetres to a maximum of 1.5 metres.

“In Kelurahan Pela Mampang there is one RT flooded up to 1.5 metres,” he added.

The following 39 RTs and 13 roads were flooded as of Sunday midnight:

West Jakarta has 19 RTs, comprising:

Kelurahan Kedaung Kali Angke: 4 RT; Water height: 60-70 cm

Kelurahan Kedoya Selatan: 4 RT; Water height: 30 cm

Kelurahan Kedoya Utara: 4 RT; Water height: 20 cm

Kelurahan Sukabumi Selatan: 2 RT; Water height: 120 cm

Kelurahan Joglo: 1 RT; Water height: 65 cm

Kelurahan Kembangan Selatan: 2 RT; Water height: 50 cm

Kelurahan Kembangan Utara: 2 RT; Water height: 60 cm

South Jakarta has 20 RTs, comprising:

Kelurahan Cilandak Barat: 1 RT; Water height: 120 cm

Kelurahan Cipete Utara: 3 RT; Water height: 100 cm

Kelurahan Petogogan: 12 RT; Water height: 20 cm

Kelurahan Pela Mampang: 1 RT; Water height: 150 cm

Kelurahan Duren Tiga: 1 RT; Water height: 50 cm

Kelurahan Cilandak Timur: 2 RT; Water height: 120 cm

BPBD DKI Jakarta has deployed personnel to monitor flood conditions in each area and to coordinate with the Infrastructure and Water Resources Agencies (Dinas SDA), Public Works Agency (Dinas Bina Marga), and Fire and Disaster Agency (Gulkarmat) to pump out floodwaters and ensure drainage systems are functioning properly.

“We urge the public to remain cautious and vigilant against the potential for flooding. In emergencies, please call the 112 number. This service is free and operates 24 hours a day, non-stop,” he said.
