Flooding has submerged the Kopo Sayati highway in the Margahayu District, Bandung Regency, West Java, resulting in the total paralysis of road access towards Soreang.

Observations at the location on Tuesday (29/09/2026) showed that the road, commonly known as Jalan Dengdek (Jadek), was submerged with maximum depths reaching one metre. Several motorcyclists who attempted to traverse the area were left stranded after their vehicles stalled in the middle of the floodwaters.

Both cars and motorcycles have been forced to turn around and utilise alternative routes, leaving only large trucks capable of navigating the deep water.

Martin Rendi Laksana (36), a resident of Soreang, stated that the flooding was triggered by high-intensity rainfall. He was forced to pull his vehicle over at a local convenience store to seek shelter.

“Yes, at 1 pm I chose to take shelter here because the rain was very heavy. The heavy rain has continued until now,” Martin said when encountered at the scene.

He explained that following the downpour, water from drains and small rivers immediately overflowed onto the road, causing the area to flood.

Meanwhile, Aditya Herman (31), a resident of Katapang, revealed that such flooding is a recurring issue during periods of heavy rain.

“This flooding has existed since I was a child. When this happens, access becomes difficult and residents struggle to pass through,” said Aditya.
