Flooding in Aceh’s Subulussalam Affects 1,985 Households
Banda Aceh (ANTARA) – The Aceh Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBA) said flooding in Subulussalam city, Aceh, had affected 1,985 households.
“Flooding has affected 1,985 households. The number of people affected is still being recorded. For now, only three households in Sibuasan Village have evacuated, and there have been no fatalities,” BPBA Executive Head Bahron Bakti said in a report from Banda Aceh on Wednesday evening (28 October).
The BPBA reported that Subulussalam was flooded after heavy rain had affected the area since Saturday (24 October) the previous week.
The rain caused the Lae Souraya and Rikit rivers to overflow into residential areas in Sultan Daulat and Rundeng districts.
Bahron said the flooding had also damaged buildings and inundated 2,013 homes, village roads, plantation and agricultural land, schools and places of worship.
“The area remains flooded, and the water has reportedly not yet receded,” Bahron said.
