Flooding Hits Multiple Locations in Surabaya, Water Levels Reach 50 cm

Heavy rain hitting Surabaya city this morning has caused flooding in several locations. As of midday, dozens of-flooded spots remain across various parts of the city.

“As of this afternoon, there is still stagnant water in several areas of Surabaya. The East Java BPBD team is carrying out water pumping efforts located in front of the STIKOSA-AWS campus in the Nginden area,” said the Head of East Java BPBD, Gatot Soebroto, on Tuesday (23/06/2026).

“The East Java BPBD team is also conducting pumping operations in Gunung Anyar Tambak, Gunung Anyar District, where the water level is quite high,” he added.

According to data from the East Java BPBD, several areas are observed to still have stagnant water, although it is slowly receding, including Gunung Anyar Tambak, Ngagel Kebonsari (SMPN 12), Jalan Imam Bonjol, Simomulyo, Sawunggaling, and Kandangan.

Other affected areas include Jalan Wisma Tengger Kandangan, Jalan Nginden Intan Timur (AWS), Jalan Manyar Rejo, Jalan Taman Panjang Jiwo Permai (Ubaya Hospital), RSIA Kendangsari, Jalan Karangan No 213-A, RT 001 RW 01, Jalan Simo Kalangan, Jalan Tanjung Sari, Jalan Imam Bonjol, Ngagel Kebonsari (SMPN 12), Jalan Barata Jaya No 17, Jalan Medokan Ayu, Jalan Raya Pandugo, Jalan Graha Famili Selatan VIII, and Jalan Puri Gunung Anyar Regency.

“At Jalan Nginden Intan Timur (AWS), the water level is still above 30 centimetres. Meanwhile, at Jalan Taman Panjang Jiwo Permai (Ubaya Hospital), the water level is 30 centimetres,” Gatot explained.

“Furthermore, Manyar Rejo has a water level of 10 centimetres. Jalan Tanjungsari is at 30 centimetres, and Jalan Medokan Ayu is around 10-30 centimetres. The situation is quite severe on Jalan Raya Pandugo, where the water level has reached 50 centimetres,” he added.
