Flooding hits Medan, houses inundated

MEDAN, North Sumatra: Hundreds of houses in Terjun subdistrict, Medan municipality, were inundated by floodwaters on Saturday.

The flooding occurred after Bederah River overflowed following heavy rain in the area on Friday.

Residents were seeing moving their possessions to higher ground on Saturday. Flooding is an annual occurrence in the area. -- JP
