Flooding causes trouble in Manado

MANADO, North Sulawesi: Incessant rainfall has caused floods
and landslides in various parts of Manado.

Manado police said no reports of casualties have been received
as the bad weather continues.

The floods originate from the Tondano River which divides the
city down the center. Among the worst affected areas are Ketang
Baru, Ternate Baru, Karame and Istiqlal subdistricts.

Many highways in Manado have also been flooded, causing
traffic jams, according to Antara.

The landslides occurred in Ranomut subdistrict. (emb)
