Flooding Affects Dozens of Households in Tabanan
Heavy rain that has hit most of Tabanan Regency since Monday (23/2/2026) until Tuesday (24/2/2026) has caused water to enter residents’ homes. In Banjar Jagasatru, Kediri District, the homes of 26 households were flooded.
According to the Head of Kediri District, I Made Surya Darma, the location of the 26 households is in a lower area. This caused the water flow to enter the dozens of houses.
“This condition is exacerbated by the fact that there are no drainage channels or infiltration wells in the area,” said Surya Darma.
He added that two of the households chose to evacuate to their relatives’ homes in Banjar Kahuripan, Kediri Village, to be on the safe side and anticipate further flooding.
This incident also received attention from the Deputy Regent of Tabanan, I Made Dirga. The second-highest official in the Tabanan Regency Government went directly to visit the affected residents’ homes. In addition to visiting, Deputy Regent Dirga also provided assistance in the form of basic necessities.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Tabanan BPBD (Regional Disaster Management Agency), I Nyoman Sri Nadha Giri, added that data collection is still being carried out for all disaster locations in Tabanan.
“We have paid attention to the flood disaster in Kediri. The floodwater has been pumped out because of the lack of drainage,” said Sri Nadha Giri.
He added that the government has taken action to coordinate with the Tabanan Public Works Department to immediately build drainage channels.
