Flood Waters Recede, Bridge Connecting Depok and South Tangerang Now Passable for Vehicles
SOUTH TANGERANG, KOMPAS.com - Jalan Bandung in Cinere, South Tangerang City (Tangsel), specifically at the bridge on the border between Depok and Tangsel, which was submerged by flooding, can now be traversed by vehicles as of Monday morning (20/4/2026). “The current condition has receded and is now passable by vehicles,” said the Operational Service Coordinator of the Tangsel BPBD, Dian Wiryawan, when confirmed by Kompas.com via WhatsApp on Monday. Although the flood conditions have subsided, drivers are asked to be careful when passing due to the still high water flow in the river. “The Pesanggrahan River flooded and inundated access to the bridge connecting Pondok Cabe with Cinere, Depok,” he said. As a result, the Depok-Tangsel road access was temporarily disrupted and impassable for vehicles. Even one white minibus became stuck after recklessly trying to ford the flood. “There was one vehicle that recklessly crossed the bridge,” he said. Now, the vehicle has been successfully evacuated, and there were no casualties in the incident. “The driver inside is safe. He was trapped inside. The vehicle was evacuated by volunteers and residents,” Dian explained. A total of 30 households were reported affected, with water heights ranging from 5 to 25 centimetres. However, the conditions at the location have now subsided. “The area in Pamulang has receded,” he said.
