Flood Victims in Solok Evacuate to Prayer Rooms
Flash floods struck the Arosuka area, Solok Regency, West Sumatra, on Monday (21/09/2026), affecting approximately 200 households. According to data from the Solok Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), four residents sustained injuries, while two people remain missing.
The flood debris has also severed access to the main national road in the area. Heavy machinery has been deployed to clear mud and flood materials blocking the roadway to ensure access can be restored.
Around 35 survivors have sought refuge in a prayer room (mushalla) and the official residence hall of the Vice Regent of Solok. Other residents have chosen to evacuate independently to the homes of relatives while waiting for the situation to stabilise.
