The South Jakarta Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) reported that flooding inundated several areas in South Jakarta. In the Pejaten Timur area, flood levels reached up to 180 cm. “Puddling occurred in several locations, such as Pejaten Timur Ward, Pasar Minggu Subdistrict, and Rawajati Ward, Pancoran Subdistrict, due to the overflow of the Ciliwung River,” said Sukendar, Head of the BPBD South Jakarta Task Force, quoted by Antara on Monday (20/4/2026). Flooding in Pejaten Timur began around 02:00 WIB with water levels at 50 centimetres (cm), rising to 180 cm by 04:50 WIB. The water gradually receded starting from 06:10 WIB, leaving about 20 cm by 09:40 WIB. Overall, hundreds of households were affected in Pejaten Timur, spread across several RTs in RW 007 and RW 008. However, residents remained in their homes, and no one evacuated. “The number of evacuees is nil, and there are no fatalities in this incident,” Sukendar stated. Meanwhile, in Gang Langgar, Rawajati, flooding started at 04:00 WIB with initial levels of 30 cm. Water levels peaked at 80 cm before gradually receding in several spots. The DKI Jakarta BPBD explained that the flooding was caused by the Katulampa Weir being raised to alert level 3 with a water surface height of 105 cm, and the Depok monitoring post reaching alert level 2 with a water surface height of 280 cm. This led to the Ciliwung River overflowing into residential areas. Response efforts by officials included setting up evacuation routes and coordinating with ward authorities and Public Facilities and Infrastructure Handling Unit (PPSU) personnel. Currently, conditions in the affected areas have gradually returned to normal as the water recedes. The DKI BPBD recorded that six RTs in South Jakarta were flooded on Monday morning at 08:00 WIB.
