Flood emergency response status in Kendari extended until 24 May 2026

The Kendari City Government has extended the flood emergency response status for the next seven days, until 24 May 2026, as the situation is deemed to still require further attention and follow-up handling. Personnel from the Kendari City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) have been actively assisting local residents and schools, such as Dewi Sartika Kindergarten in the Wua-Wua District, in cleaning up mud deposits left by the floods. Meanwhile, in the Baruga District, residents in the Kali Wanggu area are also working to clear mud from drainage systems covering their homes.
