PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia has stated that flight operations at Soekarma-Hatta International Airport remained uninterrupted following the appearance of smoke in Terminal 2 on Saturday (6/6). The affected area returned to normal within minutes.

Yudistiawan, Assistant Deputy Director of Communications and Legal Affairs at the airport, explained that the smoke in Terminal 2 was quickly brought under control. All affected parts of the terminal have returned to normal operations.

He noted that the airport’s rapid response allowed conditions in Terminal 2 to stabilise in a short period, enabling passenger handling and terminal activities to continue without prolonged disruption. The airport management confirmed that flight operations and passenger services remained safe, orderly, and fully functional during the incident, with no impact on departure or arrival schedules at Terminal 2.

The airport operator apologised for any inconvenience caused to passengers and reaffirmed that passenger safety, security, and comfort remain the highest operational priorities. Initial findings indicate that the smoke originated from a technical fault in a ground handling operational vehicle.
