The Ministry of Immigration and Corrections (Kemenimipas) has urged foreign nationals affected by flight cancellations caused by the United States–Iran tensions to report to the nearest immigration office promptly. Through the Directorate General of Immigration, the ministry is issuing a temporary stay policy known as the Izin Tinggal Keadaan Terpaksa (ITKT).

The policy was announced on the Directorate General of Immigration’s official social media accounts. Foreign nationals wishing to apply for the Izin Tinggal Keadaan Terpaksa must attach a letter or proof of cancellation from the airline or airport authorities.

“For foreign nationals affected by flight cancellations due to the closure of airspace in the Middle East, please report promptly to the nearest immigration office to apply for ITKT by attaching a letter or proof of cancellation from the Aviation Civil Authority (airlines/airport authorities),” wrote the Directorate General of Immigration, as seen by detikcom on Wednesday, 4 March 2026.

In the posted announcement, the DG of Immigration noted there is potential for overstays among foreign nationals whose cross-border travel is affected by airspace closures in several Middle Eastern countries during the ongoing military conflict.

Earlier, PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (In Journey Airports) Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Branch, Tangerang, Banten, reported that 15 flights to the Middle East were cancelled today after the war erupted in the region. In total, 60 flights at Soekarno-Hatta have been cancelled since the start of the US–Israel conflict with Iran.

“Based on operational data up to 07:00 WIB on 3 March 2026, 15 Middle East route flights were cancelled,” said Aziz Fahmi Harahap, Acting Assistant Deputy for Communications and Legal Affairs at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, quoted by Antara, on Tuesday 3 March 2026.

The fifteen cancelled Middle East flights included routes to Abu Dhabi (AUH): Etihad Airways EY472, EY473; Doha (DOH): Qatar Airways QR956, QR954, QR955, QR957, and Garuda Indonesia GA900; Dubai (DXB): Emirates EK356, EK358, EK357, EK359; Jeddah (JED): Saudia SV822, SV823; Muscat (MCT): Oman Air WY850, WY849.

Aziz noted that the number of cancellations on the fourth day was lower than the previous day, which recorded 18 cancellations. “Cumulatively, from 28 February 2026 to the fourth day, a total of 60 Middle East route flights to and from Soekarno-Hatta have been cancelled,” he said.
