Flight closures at Soekarno-Hatta continue until 23.59 WIB

Tangerang (ANTARA) - Perum LPPNPI, or AirNav Indonesia, has again updated aeronautical information regarding the extension of the temporary flight closure at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Soetta) in Tangerang, Banten, until 23.59 WIB on Monday (7/9).

EVP of Corporate Secretary at AirNav Indonesia, Hermana Soegijantoro, said in a written statement in Tangerang that the airspace closure extension was carried out due to the impact of volcanic ash from the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau on Sunday (6/9).

“Based on the updated Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) A3387/26 (NOTAMR A3373/26), Soekarno-Hatta International Airport remains closed due to volcanic ash from Mount Anak Krakatau. The closure applies from 17.33 WIB, with an estimated reopening at 23.59 WIB on 7 September 2026,” he said.

He explained that NOTAM A3387/26 is an update to NOTAM A3373/26, which previously set the closure period until an estimated 18.00 WIB.

In this regard, AirNav Indonesia will continue to monitor developments in airspace conditions and the spread of volcanic ash from Mount Anak Krakatau.

“Aeronautical information will continue to be updated according to actual conditions and flight safety information,” he said.

AirNav Indonesia is still coordinating with aviation stakeholders to ensure that information on airspace conditions and air navigation services is conveyed in a timely manner.
