Flat Rp5,000: Kelapa Gading-Manggarai LRT Fares to be Evaluated in October 2026

The Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung Wibowo, has stated that an evaluation will be conducted on the fares for the Kelapa Gading-Manggarai LRT route to ensure that the subsidies provided by the provincial government do not become excessive.

“How and what specific figure is appropriate so that it can be well-received by the public, while also ensuring that the subsidy for the LRT does not become too large for the Jakarta Provincial Government,” Pramono said at City Hall, Jakarta, on Thursday (3/9).

The Jakarta Provincial Government is preparing a special fare of Rp8,000 for the Kelapa Gading-Manggarai LRT before it officially commences operations. Pramono noted that this special rate is being provided as part of a socialisation effort to inform the public about the new route. He added that certain aspects of the project are still being finalised.

According to Pramono, the fare will be set at a flat rate of Rp5,000 until October 2026. After October 2026, the Jakarta Provincial Government will recalculate the fare amount for the route.

“Through socialisation with that rate, I am confident that every day we could potentially reach over 40,000 new passengers who have previously never used the LRT line from Kelapa Gading to Manggarai,” Pramano explained.

The inauguration of the Kelapa Gading-Manggarai LRT was originally scheduled for 26 August 2026 but has been delayed. The Jakarta Provincial Government has subsequently decided to reschedule the inauguration once the evaluation has been completed.
