Flash Flood in Banjar Buleleng, 1 Resident Dead - 3 Still Missing

Four residents were swept away by a flash flood in Banjar village, Banjar district, Buleleng Regency, Bali. One person was found dead, while three others were reported missing and are still being searched for. Kadek Donny Indrawan, coordinator of the Buleleng Search and Rescue Post, said the rescue team moved immediately to the location after receiving reports of residents swept away by floodwater. The incident occurred on Friday night (6 March). ‘The Rescue Post’s Search and Rescue Team Buleleng moved at 22:30 WITA with six personnel using a personnel transport truck and bringing a rubber boat and water rescue equipment,’ Donny said on Saturday early morning (7 March 2026). At around 23:10 WITA, the joint SAR team found a victim in the river flow in the Banjar Dinas Santal area. The victim named Dewa Ketut Adi Suarjaya (55) was found lifeless. Dewa Ketut’s body was then evacuated to the mourning house in Banjar Dinas Santal, Banjar Village, Buleleng. Meanwhile, the other three victims have not yet been found. They are Komang Suci (44), Putu Wini (17), and Kadek Wahyu (12). Donny explained the search operation was temporarily halted early Saturday morning due to conditions at the site being not conducive. He said the search would resume in the morning. ‘The search will be continued by sweeping the river flow and the area around the incident,’ he said. (iws/iws)
