FKBI Considers Price Hikes for Certain Non-Subsidised Fuel to be Reasonable

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Chairman of the Indonesian Empowered Consumer Forum (FKBI), Tulus Abadi, believes that the price increases for certain non-subsidised fuels remain reasonable as long as they adhere to the applicable formula.

“Adjustments to some non-subsidised fuels are still reasonable provided they refer to the applicable formula and are carried out while considering the condition of the community,” Tulus stated in a statement received in Jakarta on Saturday.

Tulus acknowledged that the current macroeconomic conditions are quite challenging for the middle class. He assessed that the middle class will still have to accept the increase in non-subsidised fuel prices because their options are limited.

Tulus also warned of a potential domino effect resulting from this policy.
