Five villages in Central Aceh Regency have become isolated again due to the collapse of a temporary bridge swept away by subsequent flooding in the region since Monday (6/4). The five villages are Desa Terang Engon in Silih Nara sub-district, and Desa Burlah, Buge Ara, Kekuyang, and Bintang Pepara in Ketol sub-district. These villages cannot yet be accessed by two-wheeled or four-wheeled vehicles. Head of the Central Aceh BPBD, Andalika, stated that the temporary bridge, built after the disaster at the end of November 2025, has been damaged again by the subsequent flooding. “The bridge access is cut off again, causing the isolation of Desa Terang Engon in Silih Nara sub-district, and several villages in Ketol sub-district, namely Desa Burlah, Buge Ara, Kekuyang, and Bintang Pepara,” Andalika told reporters on Tuesday (7/4). The collapsed temporary bridge is located in Terang Engon, the Simpil bridge in Linge sub-district, and the Berawang Gajah bridge. Upon learning of this, the Head of the Post for Accelerating Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR) for the Aceh region, Safrizal ZA, who also serves as Director General of Regional Development at the Ministry of Home Affairs, said his team is striving to meet all needs in the five isolated villages. “For the isolated areas, we are trying as much as possible; the five villages in Central Aceh cannot yet be reached by heavy vehicles, but we will fulfil all needs in those five villages in Central Aceh,” said Safrizal. His team has also coordinated with the Ministry of Public Works team to prepare heavy equipment at the flood and landslide sites. “The Public Works team is on standby at the location; if access that was cut off like last night is repaired, and it gets cut off again, we will repair it again,” he stated.
