Five Victims of KMP Mutiara Sentosa 2 Fire Identified
The Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team of the East Java Regional Police has successfully identified five victims who died in the KMP Mutiara Sentosa 2 fire. The victims were identified using primary data, specifically fingerprints, and secondary data including dental records, medical history, and personal property.
The five identified victims are Sri Indratmo Wijaya, a 47-year-old male from Pati, Central Java; Siti Fatimah, a 57-year-old female from Makassar, South Sulawesi; Sari Sukoco, a 39-year-old male from Tulungagung, East Java; Rino Eka Putra, a 48-year-old male from Agam, West Sumatra; and Yedi Hendrawan, a 63-year-old male from Kapuas, Central Kalimantan.
A joint search team is continuing operations to locate the remaining two missing passengers from the vessel, which caught fire in Sumenep waters. The ferry was reportedly carrying 15 motorcycles, 25 cars, 140 lorries, and one heavy equipment vehicle at the time of the incident.
