Five Victims of Bantargebang Landfill Landslide Found, Several Still Missing

Joint search and rescue teams have recovered another deceased victim from the landslide at Bantargebang Waste Treatment and Processing Site (TPST). The total number of confirmed fatalities has risen to five individuals.

The collapse occurred on Sunday, 8 March 2026 at 14:30 Western Indonesia Time. The incident engulfed five garbage collection trucks that were unloading waste at the facility, as well as a nearby food stall.

Search operations for the remaining missing persons are continuing actively. A total of 336 personnel and pieces of heavy equipment have been mobilised to support evacuation and rescue operations at the site.
