Five Traders Left at Setu Babakan Prepare to Dismantle Stalls
Jakarta (ANTARA) — Five traders in the Setu Babakan area of Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, are to dismantle their stalls themselves ahead of the site’s reorganisation.
“Of the 224 traders, only five remain. The others have dismantled their stalls and moved out themselves, with assistance from the South Jakarta Public Order Agency,” South Jakarta Public Order Agency chief Nanto Dwi Subekti said by telephone in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Most of the 224 registered traders have dismantled their stalls and moved their goods, either independently or with help from officials.
He said Jagakarsa sub-district Public Order Agency personnel had visited the site over the past few days to help traders transport their belongings.
The assistance is part of support for traders ahead of preparations to reorganise the Setu Babakan area.
Previously, the South Jakarta Public Order Agency provided free transport for traders affected by the reorganisation, which is intended to make way for a drainage channel and jogging track. Traders needing assistance can call 0896-2142-2618.
The agency also issued a third and final warning (SP3) on Thursday (8 October) to traders operating along the banks of Setu Babakan, on Jalan Inspeksi Danau and in the lake’s buffer zone, in Srengseng Sawah village, Jagakarsa sub-district.
The letter instructed traders to vacate and dismantle their stalls and move their goods to the designated location within 24 hours of the SP3 being issued.
