Five struck by lightning

PROBOLINGGO, East Java: Five people were killed by lightning
in the Muneng Leres village, Sumberasih district, and Kramat
Agung village, Bantaran district, on Sunday, Antara reported
yesterday.

Ida Purwati and her brother Nanang Sugiono died when struck by
lightning as they were helping their parents make ketupat,
(boiled rice cakes), a traditional food for the Idul Fitri
Islamic holiday. The parents lost consciousness but were
unharmed.

The other victims were Moksan, Kerti and Amisi, who were hit
when they walking home in bad weather. (swe)
