Five soccer hooligans arrested

JAKARTA (JP): City Police have arrested five hooligans
following a brawl which took place shortly after the Indonesian
soccer league quarterfinals match between Persib Bandung and
Medan Jaya on Sunday at the Senayan stadium.

According to a police statement released yesterday, the first
four hooligans are believed to have been involved in the
destruction of several cars parked outside the stadium.

The suspects, currently detained at the city police
headquarters, have been identified as Hendri Hutagalung, Bona SP
Manurung, Lansiar and Mangan.

The fifth suspect, identified as Dwi Yono, was arrested for
illegally possessing a sharp weapon.

A number of Persib Bandung fans were injured during the brawl
which erupted seconds after the game, which was won by Persib
Bandung 2-1.

Police hope that the owners of the damaged cars will lodge

suspects to court.(bsr)
