Jakarta – Five security posts have been established to serve residents and tourists visiting Thousand Islands Regency, DKI Jakarta Province, during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday period (1447 Hijriah).

“We have established five security posts distributed across Untung Jawa Island, Tidung Island, Pari Island, Panggang Island and Harapan Island,” said Thousand Islands Police Chief AKBP Argadija Putra in Jakarta on Thursday.

He explained that each security post is staffed by 13 personnel led by a post commander who work daily as part of the centralised Operation Ketupat Jaya 2026.

Operation Ketupat Jaya 2026 in the Thousand Islands involves a combined force of 201 personnel comprising the National Police (65 personnel), the National Armed Forces (10 personnel), Civil Protection Agency (44 personnel) and the Health Office Sub-District (15 personnel).

“Operation Ketupat Jaya represents the National Police’s commitment together with the Armed Forces, regional government and all parties in providing maximum security to communities celebrating Eid al-Fitr, including community activities and tourist visits in the Thousand Islands area,” he said.

Argadija emphasised to all involved personnel to carry out their duties with full responsibility, enhance interagency coordination and provide the best service to the public.

“The synergy of all parties involved is expected to ensure that security and order in the Thousand Islands during the Eid al-Fitr holiday period can proceed safely, smoothly and harmoniously,” he said.

He expressed hope that the security posts distributed across the five areas could anticipate homebound travel, return journeys and tourist visits to the Thousand Islands.

He stated that support from all parties is necessary, particularly regarding the safety and seaworthiness of vessels to meet standards and be fit for operation.

“The same applies to security measures to anticipate the surge in tourist visits to the Thousand Islands area,” he said.
