Five robbery suspects arrested
MEDAN, North Sumatra: Police have arrested five people,
including two members of the Armed Forces (ABRI), suspected of
staging armed robberies in various locations, Antara reported
yesterday.
The news agency quoted a police source as saying that the most
recent robbery the five were believed to have committed was at a
cocoa exporting company in Jl. Ambon on Wednesday.
All of the suspects have admitted to committing the various
offenses, including a robbery involving two containers carrying
palm oil.
They are believed to be part of a gang of 11 robbers. Police,
who are currently interrogating the suspects, expect to be able
to gather enough information to track down the rest of the gang.
