Five Richest People in ASEAN: No Indonesian Crazy Rich for the First Time Since 2015

The wealth map of Southeast Asia has undergone a dramatic transformation. As of the end of July 2026, not a single Indonesian entrepreneur features in the top five richest individuals in the ASEAN region. The five top positions are now filled by billionaires from Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, and Singapore, whose combined wealth totals US$107.9 billion. This situation is a complete reversal from the beginning of 2026, when four of the five wealthiest people in Southeast Asia were Indonesian.
