Five exemplary police officers have been selected as recipients of the 2026 Hoegeng Awards, following a rigorous selection process from a total of 9,000 public nominations. The awards were presented during a ceremony attended by National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo at The Tribrata in South Jakarta on Friday (31/7).

The five categories for the 2026 Hoegeng Awards are Dedicated Police Officer, Innovative Police Officer, Protector of Women and Children, Border and Remote Area Police Officer, and Police Officer with Integrity. The recipients are: Senior Commissioner Eko Budhi Purwono, Director of Community Development for the Riau Regional Police, for the Dedicated category; Brigadier Renita Rismayanti, a member of the National Police’s International Relations Division, for the Innovative category; Senior Commissioner Norul Hidayat, Head of the Bangka Belitung Police Training School, for Integrity; Adjunct Senior Commissioner Siti Elminawati, Unit Head of Sub-directorate 4 of the Central Sulawesi Regional Police’s Criminal Investigation Directorate, for Protector of Women, Children and Vulnerable Groups; and First Inspector Motalip Litiloly, Head of the Samapta Unit of the Nduga Resort Police, Papua Regional Police, for the Border and Remote Area category.

General Sigit stated that the five winners demonstrated extraordinary dedication and service to the community. He noted that the thousands of other nominees also possessed the same spirit of service. ‘I am grateful because, without realising it, this is the fifth year, and the Hoegeng Awards have selected five people from 9,000 nominations. For me, those 9,000 nominees also carried out their duties with the same dedication and spirit,’ he said.

On the same occasion, General Sigit stressed the importance of every police officer maintaining integrity in serving the public. He expressed appreciation for officers who remain dedicated even without supervision, affirming that honesty and hard work are institutional mandates that must be upheld. ‘We hope they will continue to work wherever they are. Whether supervised or not, they work earnestly to carry out the institution’s mandate,’ he added.

General Sigit also thanked Founder and Chairman of CT Corp, Chairul Tanjung, for consistently collaborating over the past five years to identify exemplary police officers. He expressed hope that the spirit of General Hoegeng would continue to inspire the emergence of future ‘Young Hoegeng’ figures. ‘I hope this is maintained and carried out by all members wherever they are, to keep the spirit of Hoegeng burning. How we can continue to carry out the mandate of our beloved institution to truly be present, providing protection, shelter, and service to the community,’ he said.

Chairul Tanjung appreciated the increasingly competitive selection process, ensuring that all nominations came purely from public aspirations rather than from the police officers themselves. He noted that this has a positive impact on the police force’s image, reflected in the positive trend of public trust in the National Police, which has increased annually. ‘This proves that the Hoegeng Awards can motivate police officers to become more upright and to work beyond their main duties,’ he concluded.

The Hoegeng Awards are presented by detikcom in collaboration with the National Police and supported by PT Bank Mandiri Tbk.
