Five people rob man of Kijang
JAKARTA (JP): Five unidentified suspects robbed 59-year-old Alum Suryadi and escaped with his Kijang van on Tuesday evening, City police spokesman Lt. Col. Zainuri Lubis said on Wednesday.
"Alum was driving his Kijang van in Kebon Bawang, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, at about 5 p.m. on Tuesday, when two unidentified suspects stopped his car and asked him for a ride.
"Alum agreed to the idea but told the two he first had to pick up his mother," Zainuri said.
"His mother lives in Kranji, West Bekasi. Upon reaching Kranji, near the Jaka Permai housing complex on Jl. Tulang Bawang, three more people approached his van," he said.
Zainuri said that while the first two suspects in Alum's van looked on, the three other suspects sprayed tear gas in Alum's face.
The five then tied the victim up, gagged him and stabbed him in the stomach, before throwing threw him from the van near the housing complex. He is still in serious condition at Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital, Zainuri said.
"The five unidentified suspects are still at large. The police feel the first two suspects who asked the victim for a ride were female acquaintances of Alum's," he said.
