Five pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates

Five pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates will contest the presidential election on July 5. It is estimated that more people will vote in the presidential election than voted in the legislative election. Each pair of candidates and their campaign teams will certainly try to win over as many voters as possible.

In this context, the campaign teams will, among other things, draft the candidates' platforms and make use of the media and other networks to promote their candidates. As these campaign teams have begun their work, they allegedly have been involved in, among other things, character assassination and negative propaganda.

It is only proper, therefore, that at this juncture we urge these teams to exercise self-restraint and politeness in criticizing other presidential and vice presidential candidates during the campaign. They have to heed the principles of democracy and ethics.
